Ana Dubyk – Albert Tajti (RO)
From a Quiet Place

Ana Dubyk – voice
Albert Tajti – piano

Ana & Albert began exploring playing together 7 years ago, firstly with well-known jazz standards and continuing with pieces composed by Ana. 2021 was the year when they started writing pieces together and discovering new paths to a shared language, mixed with their different musical experiences.

Ana Dubyk studied classical piano and classical singing at the music high school in Timișoara, then at the jazz section of The National University of Music in Bucharest, and this year she graduated the Master in the jazz music division at the Prins Claus Conservatory from Groningen, Netherlands.

She played at various clubs and festivals in Romania, New York, Netherlands and the Republic of Moldova. She collaborated with many Romanian and foreign musicians. She’s part of the acapella group The Twisters, and this year she’s going to release her first album, “Halcyon”, together with George Dumitriu and Andrea Caruso.

Albert Tajti is one of the most representative jazz pianists in Romania. He partnered with some of the best jazz musicians in Romania and performed on the stages of the most important festivals: Green Hours JAZZ Fest, Bucharest Jazz Festival, Alba Jazz, Jazz TM, Dobrojazz, Csiki Jazz…

Rafał Sarnecki Quintet

Łukasz Poprawski – saxophone
Piotr Wyleżoł – piano
Rafał Sarnecki – guitar
Wojciech Pulcyn – bass
Adam Zagórski – percussions

Originally from Warsaw, Poland, Rafał Sarnecki is a jazz guitarist and composer currently living in New York. In the twelve years that Rafal spent living in the Big Apple he has become one of the most sought after jazz composers of his generation. As a leader of his own projects Rafal has toured China, South Korea, Malaysia, Chile, Israel, the East and West Coast of the US and many European countries. He has shared the stage with many top names from the US jazz scene including: Ben Wendel, Ingrid Jensen, Alex Sipiagin, Joel Frahm and Gary Thomas to list a few.

Calling Rafal Sarnecki simply a guitarist would be an insult. He has already passed the limits of his instrument a long time ago (…) He created an original language which enables him to combine different surprising elements forming a new cohesive quality.

Jazz Forum Magazine

Very interesting record, very well composed and perfectly performed. Rafal Sarnecki is a composer and musician that we will surely hear about. You can feel the New York touch. Compositions are cohesive and interesting.
