Our friendly little Band is looking forward to touring Romania for the third time.
We are carrying our latest release “Auf allen 7 Meeren” which loosely translates into “all over the place” in a humorous pirate way. The three of us have been playing together in this band for 17 years. We developed an outstanding musical understanding as well as a fault forgiving friendship. In our works we try to find new musical possibilities despite the lack of instruments, keeping the melodie and the groove always on the forefront.
Andreas Francke (sax) was born in Freiburg im Breisgau. He has studied the saxophone with Prof. Bernd Konrad at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart. More personal studies followed with Michael Heitzler ( D ), George Robert ( CH ) , and Terry Steel ( USA ). He hís working as a freelance musician in all kinds of musical situations such as bigbands or theatre work and has toured Europe with all kinds of improvised music.
Dirk Blümlein (bass) has studied his instrument with Thomas Heidepriem at staatliche Musikhochschule Stuttgart. He has toured Europe with the Ska Band “No Sports” and the world with “Fools Garden”. Besides working and recording as a sideman he has made 3 CDs to his own name and 4 CDs with his band, the Dirk Blümlein Terzett.
Eckhard Stromer (drums) has studied classical drums and jazz drums in Würzburg and has continued his studies in Stuttgart. Since 2000 he has been teaching as a professor for Jazz- und Pop Drums at the Staatliche Hochschule for music and contemporary art in Stuttgart. He has worked with such names as: Peter Herbolzheimer, Bobby Shew, Cornell Dupree, Roger Chapman, Geoff Whitehorn, Nils Gessinger, Ack van Rooyen, Ian Anderson, Paul Carrack, PUR, Rainer Tempel, Jon Lord, Cécile Verny, Randy Brecker, Bobby Kimball, Terell Stafford, Heinz Rudolf Kunze, Martin Schrack, Jimi Jamison, Scorpions, Paquito d`Rivera, German Pops Orchestra, diverse musical shows in Stuttgart and Berlin and with big name symphonic orchestras.
